Leicester’s Demarai Gray wins controversial stoppage time penalty against Man City

Do they have a point?

SportsJOE

Leicester City took high flying Manchester City to extra time in their Carabao Cup quarter final on Tuesday night.

Leading through a first half goal from Bernardo Silva, Pep Guardiola’s (much changed) side looked to have won the game in normal time before a penalty was awarded to their hosts deep into added on time.

The decision itself was controversial, with Kyle Walker adjudged to have fouled Demarai Gray. To many, the contact was minimal – some even suggesting there hadn’t been any contact at all and that Gray had dived.

As a result, plenty of those watching the game wondered if the winger would face retrospective punishment from the FA for the matter.

The penalty was then dispatched by Jamie Vardy, who had entered the game as a second half substitute.
