Everyone was baffled by Phil Neville’s solution to the Philippe Coutinho situation

He has a very creative solution to the situation.

Liverpool have rejected a second bid from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho, according to several reports.

The Catalan club are said to have offered £90m for the Brazilian playmaker, but the offer was dismissed by Liverpool, who understandably don’t want to lose their best player.

Coutinho is said to have his heart set on joining Barca. However, according to reports, there’s no price that would convince Liverpool to sell him, and they have no intention of entering negotiations about a possible transfer.

The 25-year-old signed a new five-year contract back in January. Liverpool reportedly consider it inconceivable that Coutinho would leave this month, with the team involved in a Champions League qualifier against Hoffenheim and the new Premier League season about to begin.

But, maybe the club’s owners and Jurgen Klopp might reconsider their stance after hearing Phil Neville’s idea.

The former Manchester United defender, appearing on Sky Sports show The Debate, said that Liverpool would do well to receive £100m for Coutinho, and then buy Diego Costa from Chelsea.

It’s a creative, unique solution to the transfer saga, but fans were baffled.

At least someone agreed with Phil.
