It’s that time of year again when football fans like to argue over which players are most deserving of the PFA awards.
The nominees for the Player and Young Player of the Year were announced by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) on Thursday morning, a full 10 days ahead of the awards ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House on Sunday, April 23.
As you might expect, table-topping Chelsea have twice as many nominees for the main prize as any club (this doesn’t sound anything like as impressive when we tell you they have two players nominated) – Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante.
Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Tottenham’s Harry Kane are also nominated but there are no Liverpool players in sight:

Keeping with tradition, plenty of people spent the minutes after the nominations were announced complaining at the most obvious omission from the list of six players: Tottenham’s Dele Alli.
Alli, who only turned 21 this week, does feature on the list of nominees for the PFA Young Player of the Year, although plenty of people seem to think the Spurs player has done more than enough to be ranked amongst this season’s top six Premier League players:

How is Dele Alli not on the PFA Player of the Year list? And people say you need to play the game to know the game #headsgone

Not sure how Alli hasn't made it on to the PFA player of the year list though. Just as deserving as Kane and Lukaku to be on both lists

Hang on a minute, Alexis Sanchez is nominated for PFA Player of the Year ahead of Deli Alli? Not sure about that one…
