The record, which was previously held by Shamrock Rovers, had stood 92 years, and there was no surprise who got the history making goal. Talisman Richie Towell scored two to bring his own tally to 28 for the season from midfield.
The former Crumlin United and Celtic midfielder has undoubtedly being the best player in the country this season, and is reportedly attracting interest from clubs in England.
