Darren Anderton is very ,very angry with Conor McNamara.
The Irish commentator, who’s just finished a stint fronting Tv3’s Rugby World Cup coverage, was back on duty with the BBC this week, and one of his first games once again behind the mic was the Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Monday night.
At half time McNamara tweeted this about former Tottenham player Darren Anderton, who famously is often called by just one word due to his seemingly unrelenting bad luck with injuries: sicknote.
True story: They wanted Darren Anderton to do the 1/2 time crossbar challenge. He couldn't. Due to… injury. pic.twitter.com/tc8ATOpm4C

Everybody had a good laugh at the former England man’s expense and that it seemed was that.
That was until the former England international went on the rampage against McNamara.
@ConorMcNamaraIE pathetic.. Well done you lying piece of shit.. I went onto the pitch to hand out prizes.. You should be ashamed of yourself

McNamara was immediately on the defensive, understandably as it turned out.
@ConorMcNamaraIE good one

But it seems the England man was having none of it.
@Darren_Anderton You are shooting the messenger here. I didn't lie. Have a go at the guy who said it on loudspeaker to thousands of people.

Anderton wasn’t taking it lying down (on the physios’ table).
@ConorMcNamaraIE no he didn't

Until McNamara provided the smoking gun evidence from the night in question.
@Darren_Anderton Here you go. I didn't lie. pic.twitter.com/lduGnoUjzj

But Darren was still not giving in.Â
@Mackers1501 @ConorMcNamaraIE I wasn't injured so not proven wrong.. The original quote is a lie.. Still
— Darren Anderton (@DarrenAnderton) November 4, 2015
@Mackers1501 @Berminn27 @ConorMcNamaraIE the guys tweet was completely out of order.. The announcer comment was tongue in cheek.. Simple

It’s all gone quite in the last while but it doesn’t seem to have rattled the Irishman as he’s heading off to a nice do tonight.
Honoured to be one of the judges for tonight's @BBC #GillardAwards. Well done to all the nominations. #Gillards pic.twitter.com/QqJOzYRLld
