Coventry caught selling old Leicester City top as their ‘new’ kit

Well, this is embarrassing

Robert Redmond

Coventry City, hang your head in shame.

Coventry have been caught attempting to pass off old Leicester City jerseys as their own kit. The training top, pictured below and posted on Twitter by a fan, appears to be a Leicester jersey… with a Coventry badge sewn on. A close look at the top, on sale for £15, reveals a faint outline of the logo of the Foxes’ sponsor, King Power. It looks as though the jersey’s original lettering was peeled off and the club badges replaced.

Coventry have fallen on hard times in recent years. They have just returned to the Ricoh Area, after been forced to leave their home stadium for the 2013/14 season following a row over the leasing of the property. Coventry were forced to play their home fixtures 35 miles away in Northampton and the club is in a difficult financial position. Who knew they were this strapped for cash though?
