Cillian Sheridan sums up the sheer awfulness of Liverpool v Manchester United

A terrible game

Robert Redmond

It’s finally over.

Today’s fixture between Liverpool and Manchester United won’t live long in the memory, unless you’re trying to remember one of the worst games of the season, or Wayne Rooney’s late winner.

The game at Anfield was, with the exception of a few fine David de Gea saves, largely devoid of any quality.

Marouane Fellaini ran around and bumped into people, Kolo Toure (mostly) kept Rooney in his pocket and Jordan Henderson blasted shots over and wide that Steven Gerrard would’ve smashed into the net.

The game was so bad former Republic of Ireland striker Cillian Sheridan felt sorry for Sky Sports, who paid an awful lot of money to broadcast Premier League games.
