Brendan Rodgers reveals how many job offers he’s received since leaving Liverpool

In demand

Brendan Rodgers is in-demand, according to himself at least.

The Northern Irishman has been out of work since being sacked by Liverpool back in October, and claims he’s eager to get back into management, but just not this season.

Rodgers told beIN Sports he has had a number of chances to get back into management in the past few months, including an opportunity to return to former club Swansea City, but turned down the offers as he wants to take a break from the intensity of top level football.

“I have had five opportunities since I left Liverpool to get back into work, all at clubs I really respect, but I just felt I wanted to take some time out,” the 43 year old said.

“It is very intense when you are in the game.”Liverpool v Aston Villa - Premier LeagueRodgers also revealed that, in addition to Swansea, he also declined the chance to speak to a number of other Premier League teams.

“I spoke to Hugh Jenkins, the (Swansea) chairman, and people I know well, but I made it clear, I was pretty open, Swansea is a wonderful club, and there were also a couple of other Premier League clubs I could have gone back to, but I was open and upfront.”

“I wasn’t going to be available to come into a club before the summer.”
