Brendan Rodgers’ divorce case reveals the Liverpool manager owns an incredible amount of property

That's a lot of houses

We hope, for his own sake, Dejan Lovren isn’t defending him.

Brendan Rodgers is currently preparing Liverpool for the new Premier League campaign.

In addition to attempting to shore up the team’s leaky defence from last season, the Northern Irishman is involved in divorce proceedings with his estranged wife over a property empire.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, Rodgers owns 102 houses, a portfolio built up over two decades and so big it cost £32,000 (€45,210) just to have to be independently assessed.

The Liverpool manager’s wife Susan is reportedly seeking 50% of both the portfolio and Rodgers’ future earnings, and the ruling could cost him around £8.5 million (€12 million).

At a hearing in London’s High Court earlier this week, it was also estimated that Rodgers will have earned £20 million (€28 million) in his role as Liverpool manager, should he see out the remainder of his contract, which expires in 2018.

We reckon Rodgers will be allowed to keep this portrait that hung on the wall of his former home, no matter what the eventual ruling.
