Barcelona’s new away kit will make you not want to watch them play

This shade of green should never be worn on a football pitch

Why must they put us through such pain?

As we edge closer to the new European football season, that can only mean two things: transfer sagas and kit reveals. Even during the World Cup, these announcements don’t sleep. On Monday, Barcelona revealed their new away kit for the upcoming 2018/19 season, and I’m sorry to report that it is, once again, not pretty.

For a club with such consistently beautiful home kits, they really do let themselves down on the away kit front. Occasionally they’ll pull one out the bag with the colours of the Catalan flag, but too often they wear fluorescent colours on their travels, which make them look like eleven substitutes or referees.

The red and blue stripes on the sleeves are a slightly redeeming feature but this shade of lime green should never be seen on a football pitch, really.
