Asking price for Germany defender has Arsenal and Manchester United fans excited
This was meant to be the transfer window where Premier League clubs would pay massively over the odds for anyone and everyone.
Sure, the new TV deal has seen some over inflated prices. Not naming any names. Except Andros Townsend. And Brad Smith. And Sadio Mane. But it has also seen a few clubs pick up a bargain or two.
Ilkay Gundogan for £20m feels like nothing when you consider what the former Borussia Dortmund man has achieved, and now it looks like one of Gundogan's German international colleagues could be available for a similar price.
Shkodran Mustafi, the defender who scored his country's first Euro 2016 goal, will be allowed to leave Valencia for around €25m (£20.9m), according to reports.
Just announced on @DepCOPEValencia, Mustafi has been made available for €25m by Valencia.

Mustafi began his professional career in England, making his debut for Everton in the Europa League before being allowed to leave by David Moyes.
And the 24-year-old's familiarity with the Premier League has convinced some supporters that their team ought to be in for him, and got some impartial observers recognising what the German can offer.
If it's true that it'll only take €25m to purchase Shkodran Mustafi, #mufc have to be all over that. Incredibly cheap for a quality player.

Makes sense that Arsenal will look the German-way (again). With Mertesacker out and quality centre halves hard to find

Of course, it wouldn't be a real transfer saga without several impatient fans yelling 'ANNOUNCE MUSTAFI' in the manner to which we're all accustomed these days.
