Ronda Rousey's absolutely staggering UFC 207 purse equals Conor McGregor's record

If ever there was definitive proof that Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor are the two biggest superstars in the UFC, this is it.

Despite coming into the fight as the champion, Amanda Nunes earned a hell of a lot less than challenger Ronda Rousey for taking part in UFC 207's main event.

According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, broken by ESPN's Brett Okamato, Rousey will bank a disclosed $3 million for her highly anticipated return to the Octagon.

This staggering payday for UFC 207 is noteworthy because it matches the largest disclosed salary in the promotion's history set by Conor McGregor for his welterweight do-over against Nate Diaz at UFC 202.

This marks a huge payday increase for Rousey who took home a disclosed purse of $130,000 for her win over Cat Zingano at UFC 184. However, it's important to note that her earnings for her last two bouts, against Holly Holm and Bethe Correia respectively, aren't in the public domain as they took place in Brazil and Australia. These two countries' commissions don't release financial figures for events.

In contrast, despite holding the belt and being the only fighter in the headline act coming off a win, Amanda Nunes will only earn a disclosed purse of $100,000 which will be doubled if she wins. Although Dana White confirmed before the event that Nunes would be earning PPV points for the event as champion.

These figures are only based on financial information released by the state athletic commission and do not include performance bonuses, pay-per-view bonuses or locker-room bonuses from the promotion.
