When UFC star Eddie Alvarez was asked for a simple retweet to help out a seriously injured GAA player, ‘the Underground King’ didn’t hesitate to offer something more.

On Saturday night, Aaron Elliott was found unresponsive and without a pulse after being struck by a car in Philadelphia. The Tyrone native, who had become an influential member of Philadelphia GAA since making the move in March, was left with serious body and head injuries.

After being given CPR at the scene by local police, he began breathing again and was rushed to Abington Memorial Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery on a severe compound fracture which had left his elbow shattered.

He was then placed in neuro critical care unit where he still remains having suffered a blood clot, leak in the brain, and a fractured skull. He also underwent surgery on a collapsed lung.

With no health insurance to fund his intense rehabilitation or the rest of his stay in hospital, Elliot requires financial aid. A G0 Fund Me page has been set up to help raise funds and to get the word out, Alvarez, a proud son of Philadelphia, was made aware of Elliott’s situation on Twitter.

When he received the notification, Alvarez made sure it didn’t go ignored. However, instead of giving a retweet, he did something much more meaningful that will undoubtedly ensure the Go Fund Me page gets spread even more.

Without hesitation, he asked where Elliott was located, if he was allowed visitors and when he could go visit him.

Once all the details were confirmed, Alvarez vowed to try to clear his schedule in order to see Elliott.

What a class act.
