The quest to be HSBC Champions… champion has taken a turn for the worse.
The Northern Irishman came up short to Victor Dubuisson at the Turkish Airlines Open, last weekend, and is now in China for the next event in the lucrative, year-ending Final Series.
Out for dinner this evening [local time], McIlroy thought he was going for the safe option. It proved to be anything but safe.

Of course, there was little sympathy for McIlroy from his close friend and former schoolmate Darren Cave.
