“Would I want to go to Manchester [United]?” Zidane said during an interview with Marca.

“I understand English, but I’m not completely fluent in it. I know that there are coaches who go to clubs without speaking the language, but I work in a different way.”

“Many elements come into play in order to win, it is a global context. I know what I need to win.”

Zidane’s managerial career.

Zidane began his career in management with Real Madrid’s B team in 2014.

The Frenchman was then promoted to the first-team manager’s position in January 2016 after the club sacked Rafa Benitez, and he experienced tremendous success in the dugout.

Zidane oversaw Real Madrid winning the Champions League in three consecutive years, as well as winning La Liga in 2017.

The former midfielder, 50, walked away from the job in 2018 but returned in March 2019 and remained in charge for two years, winning another league title in 2020.

Zidane stepped down as Real Madrid manager for the second time in 2021 after Los Blancos finished the season without a trophy.

He has been out of work since but appears to be keen on becoming France manager after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Zidane is said to have rejected the chance to become Paris Saint-Germain coach in favour of waiting for the national team position to become vacant.

Didier Deschamps, Zidane’s former teammate, is the current France manager.
