Ronnie O'Sullivan is in the news again.
The Rocket, without question the most gifted to ever pick up a snooker cue, has created a storm at the Welsh Open after deliberately playing for the pink in the closing moments of a potential maximum break.
With just a couple of reds remaining in the fifth and final frame of his 4-1 win over Barry Pinches, O'Sullivan asked the referee and tournament officials what the prize money was for a 147, and after being told it was £10,000, proceeded to play for the pink off a subsequent red.

O'Sullivan went on to clear the table and record a break of 146, missing out on a 14th career maximum, and confirmed that: "I could've got on the black and made the 147. To make a max is a massive achievement, but there's only £10,000 for it."
Naturally, O'Sullivan's actions got a mixed response...
