He was having a typically heroic Peter O'Mahony kind of day up until the 71st minute.

The Munster flanker was one of the few Irish players that performed to their usually high standards in a far from pretty 16-9 win over Italy. Ireland reached the last eight after their victory at the Olympic Stadium but they were pushed all the way. A game-defining moment arrived early in the second-half when Peter O'Mahony made a stunning, last-ditch challenge on Italian flanker Josh Furno (1min 46sec into the clip below). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65MMCO48VD8 Italy captain Sergio Parisse said, " If we had scored that try, we could have really pushed Ireland and the game could have taken a different direction." Unfortunately, O'Mahony blotted his copybook with a no arms tackle that saw him sin-binned for the remainder of the game. Post-match, Ireland coach Joe Schmidt was not too impressed with the decision to yellow card O'Mahony. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/650739587451617280
