He's back. As if he ever went away.

Rory McIlroy had to make do with ninth place in the US Open but his powering final round of -4 was a little warning shot to the rest of his competitors that form is temporary. And, in his case, class is outrageous. The Northern Ireland native went charging up the leader board during Sunday's final day of play and his stock peaked on the 13th when he hit a 72-foot birdie. Yes, a 72-foot birdie. On the Chambers Bay greens - probably the most unpredictable ones we have seen so far - and, you know, in a major, McIlroy putted from this ridiculous distance. https://twitter.com/EuropeanTour/status/612749581722390528
