WATCH: Robbie Keane gets his goal because of course he bloody does

There was never any doubt, was there?

On Robbie Keane's final appearance for the Republic of Ireland, the captain netted his 68th international goal which drew him level with Germany legend Gerd Muller. The 36-year-old will bid farewell to the Ireland jersey on Wednesday night after a friendly with Oman which marks his 146th appearance in the green of Ireland. Football isn't always romantic and things don't always play out as they should but they did on the Aviva pitch tonight as Keane pounced on a bouncing ball, flicked it over an Oman defender and smashed it beyond the goalkeeper. Sprint to corner flag, check. Somersault, check. Pistols, check.
