Howard Webb has admitted accusations that he favoured Manchester United affected him towards the end of his career.

The former referee was widely regarded as the top English official during his career, and refereed the World Cup final in 2010, but was never popular amongst Liverpool fans. Many felt he gave favourable decisions towards United, and former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel was even fined £10,000 for posting a mocked up image of Webb in a United jersey in 2011Webb has strongly denied claims that he favoured United, but today admitted the claims affected him in the later part of his career.
