Not for the first time, the Rose of Tralee delighted, horrified and enthralled the watching nation. The annual pageant was won by the Meath Rose, Elisha Brennan, but surely the night's true victor was the Germany Rose. Roisín Ni Mathuna declared her love for Aston Villa to the show's host, Daithí O'Shea, and got the ultimate pay-back. Not only was the FA Cup, which Villa almost won last year, rolled out but there was a special video message from defender Leandro Bacuna.
