Lionel Messi might be one of the best players in the world, but that doesn't excuse this ridiculous attempt to headbutt former Newcastle defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa. Fair play to the opponent for keeping his cool, barely reacting even when Messi put an arm around his throat. Incredibly the Argentine avoided a red card for this, but we're not sure how. Maybe because it was so out-of-character, but even still rules are rules. Considering the amount of times he's hacked down, we're surprised he had such a reaction. H/To Joe.co.uk
