England's all-time record goalscorer was honoured in a BBC documentary on Monday night.

Gary Lineker took viewers behind the scenes in Wayne Rooney's life, looking at the Manchester United captain's upbringing in Liverpool, his meteoric rise and his career to date. There was, understandably, no mention of Rooney's awful recent form, with the documentary instead focusing on the everyman element of Rooney's personality, and his record breaking feats before the age of 30. Legends of world football, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Bobby Charlton and David Moyes also gave their insights into England's record goalscorer. Here's how Twitter reacted: Stephen Hunt started by reminiscing over past battles with Rooney, before reflecting on his own playing situation. https://twitter.com/stephenhunt1010/status/651131904758968324 While sports journalist Olivier Holt believes behind-the-scenes documentaries, and not improved coaching, will help English football. https://twitter.com/OllieHolt22/status/651140510753517568 https://twitter.com/AlexShawESPN/status/651139164725874688?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/Joey7Barton/status/651141317334974464 A former Arsenal fox-in-the-box has been found alive and well. https://twitter.com/FJ10official/status/651144538107457538 https://twitter.com/_PaulHayward/status/651144762464931840 The elephant in the room wasn't addressed though. https://twitter.com/MiguelDelaney/status/651127816516308992 https://twitter.com/MrNiallMcGarry/status/650802886268612608 https://twitter.com/OffsideLiam/status/651107670443864064 But Wayne came across well, and isn't that what really matters from professional footballers? https://twitter.com/JordanLukas_/status/651148757942210561 https://twitter.com/AP_McCoy/status/651142580529315840 https://twitter.com/piersmorgan/status/651133195585327104
