We've another six months of this to go

So, Steven Gerrard has announced that he's leaving Liverpool at the end of the season and team-mates past and present have been queuing up to say what an honour and privilege it was to play alongside the player some are calling the best to ever play for Liverpool. This is probably not the time to raise the point that had it not been for the ineptitude and/or laziness in those around him, Gerrard wouldn't have been required to turn in the kind of superhuman displays that became his trademark as played three or four positions at once to desperately try and cover for the deficiencies in those around him. No, this is a time to pay tribute. Xabi Alonso has already won that battle, but others have had their say too. No word yet from Andrei Voronin, Alberto Aquilani or Antonio Nunez. https://twitter.com/77thomo/status/551012144763117568 https://twitter.com/aarbeloa17/status/551045457926168577 https://twitter.com/LuchoGarcia14/status/551027388981989376 https://twitter.com/DanielAgger/status/551045593934868480 https://twitter.com/PReina25/status/551027334330200064 https://twitter.com/petercrouch/status/550794814963597312 http://instagram.com/p/xWwaLbATI1/ https://twitter.com/dani37pacheco/status/550945097333084160   http://instagram.com/p/xWaZqXpBH8/
