At 31, Daniel Agger should still be the classy, elegant centre back who commanded boxes wherever he wanted to.
At 31, that thunderous left foot of his should still be one of the most prized and feared possessions in Europe’s top leagues.
At 31, he should still be at the peak of his considerable powers.
But, at 31, Daniel Agger has retired from football.
Thank you for your support.A great experience.It's sad,but it is the right decision to stop. I'm proud of my career. pic.twitter.com/Geu9y47vnN

Four seasons with Brondby at either side of a nine-season stint with Liverpool was the Danish legend’s lot in the end.
However, despite injuries and rumoured off-the-field problems, he managed to squeeze 71 international caps in there somewhere and he rattled the net 14 times for Liverpool in that time too.
It doesn’t always work out like you would hope or like you deserve but, after joining Liverpool for £6m back in January 2006 and then going back to Brondby for £3m just two seasons ago, Daniel Agger and his effortless brilliance earned fans aplenty and news of his retirement left many heartbroken.
@DanielAgger LEGEND! #YNWA #LFC
