The Premier League fixtures for next season were announced this morning.

And most football fans noticed that Liverpool will, on paper at least, have a very tough opening series of games early next season. Brendan Rodgers' side face trips to Stoke City on the opening day of the season, followed by games away to Arsenal, Manchester United, Everton, Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester City. https://twitter.com/br_uk/status/611083202875260928 The person that organises the fixtures has done Liverpool no favours, so much so some believe there must more at play than random chance. Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge said that the games seemed to be "hand picked by our worse enemy." https://twitter.com/Realaldo474/status/611094982477414401 While Jamie Carragher was in no doubt as to the culprit. https://twitter.com/Carra23/status/611081705340948480 Carragher points the finger squarely at Monday Night Football colleague, and former Manchester United rival, Gary Neville. The former Liverpool defender then wrote briefly about the opening set of fixtures on his Kicca account, saying the side's first game of the season, away to Stoke, was ideal to exorcise the demons of the 6-1 drubbing from the final game of last season.
"The fixtures are out & for Lfc the first 7 away fixtures starting with Stoke are as hard as can be, but with regards to Stoke surely every one connected with club will want to put that 6-1 result right from the final day of last season. A terrible day that for Lfc but hopefully the players & staff see it as an opportunity to put it right."
Meanwhile, Neville has yet to confirm or deny allegations that he's behind Liverpool's tricky set of fixtures.
