Andy Carroll has injured himself in probably the most innocuous way possible

Rio Ferdinand once infamously injured himself after leaving his leg resting on a coffee table for hours while watching TV. The then Leeds United defender managed to strain a tendon in his knee. Former Ireland midfielder Liam Lawrence once tripped over his dog, fell down the stairs and injured his ankle, and former Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot had to miss a number of games after he'd put two eggs in a microwave, which exploded and scalded him upon inspection. Andy Carroll is in good company after his latest injury.The West Ham forward hasn't played since February, and his return to action has been delayed after he injured himself putting on his shoes. That's right, Carroll will be out for another seven to 10 days after rolling his ankle putting on a pair of shoes.Since first joining West Ham in 2012, initially on-loan, before making a permanent move from Liverpool for £15 million the following summer, Carroll has been injured for over half his time at the London club. Speaking a few months ago, Carroll tried to explain why he picks up so many injuries, saying they're a by-product of his aggressive style of play. "That’s just me," the forward said. "Most of the injuries — I’ve hyper-extended when running for a tackle — it is just because I am trying to give 100 per cent every time and throw myself into everything. I think that is what happens."
